10 Optimizepress SEO Tips Rank Higher By Using These Simple Tips
What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
SEO is a marketing discipline focused on growing visibility in organic (non-paid) search engine results. SEO encompasses both the technical and creative elements required to improve rankings, drive traffic, and increase awareness in search engines. There are many aspects to SEO, from the words on your page to the way other sites link to you on the web. Sometimes SEO is simply a matter of making sure your site is structured in a way that search engines understand.
SEO isn’t just about building search engine-friendly websites. It’s about making your site better for people too. At Moz we believe these principles go hand-in-hand.
1. Use the Blog Template to create a blog on your domain, you will need to watch OP tutorials.
Optimizepress comes with a built in blog template which is very easy to use. It is not very fancy out of the box, but you need to make it look like the way you want. This blog is using the same one without any custom feature. We just added some widgets in the right column and thats about it. To Be Honest, I have been getting tremendous SEO results with this blog, so I don’t want to change anything just yet. This website and blog is all built out of standard OP. 2. Enable Optimizepress SEO Options
Many will argue about adding All In One SEO or YOAST or any other fancy plugin, but according to my experience, the built in Optimizepress SEO Options will do the job. You need to populate all the basic information like title-tags, Meta-Descriptions, Keywords etc. Rule of Thumb is to write proper and unique page descriptions for each post or page.
3. Install All In One Webmaster Tools plugin
This one is one of the most important ones, it is free and you can add it by going to Plugins > Add New. After you have set this one, you need to add your Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools codes.
4. Do your keyword research and write highly targeted weekly posts.
Think Evergreen. Write about topics that will stand the test of time. You really need to get this one right if you want maximise the ROI on your marketing efforts, we are talking about quality here not quantity. You want to write articles that attract buyers who are eager to buy. Write posts that you can use for months/years to come, see which ones getting more traffic and conversion then push them into social media sites even more.Keep the concept of Landing Pages in mind, write a post for each keyword you want to target.
Make sure you know what are the best reads on your sites and why they actually are so that you can reproduce the process.
5. Work on your Onpage Search Engine Optimization
Most oblivious thing we miss is to add the Google Authorship plugin. Make sure you add that and work on your on-page seo. You need to write for humans and for search engines but don’t sweat too much about that. Don’t be so obsessed about keywords that you repeat it in every phrase. Be natural, make it flow for the reader and make sure you write proper Meta Descriptions in each page so that google knows what your article is about.
Use H1 Tags for titles, add tags to images, tag articles in keyword categories where you can, create links within your site.
5. Submit a new sitemap everytime you put on new content!
Install a sitemap plugin and make sure you submit it to Google everytime you have new content, this is usually done by the plugin but check just in case. If you have videos on your blog/website, it is advisable that you choose a plugin that supports video sitemaps.
6. Use amazing images in posts and make sure they contain keyword related alt-tags
When you start adding images on your site, Google understands that you are making an extra effort to please visitors. Having properly tagged images also help bringing traffic to your site through Google Images Search facility.
7. Get links built to the domain. ( save yourself the hassle, get some help from a third party)
Some people might disagree with this one, but all your competitors are building links. If you think you will dominate by just have great content and hope that it gets noticed, you will have to wait for a long time.
Hire an affordable seo company with good references to build web 2.0 links for you. Ultimately, if you have the time you can do that yourself, but thats an extensive topic in itself.
8. Create Evergreen posts, every time and share it on social media sites.
The easiest/cheapest way to bring traffic to your site is through social media. SEO is a process, you cannot do it and forget it, you need to keep looking at your stats on Google Analytics and Google Webmaster tools
Google Webmaster Tools will tell you if you have any problems with your site in terms of speed, crawling, missing pages, viruses etc. You can also see which position you are for a particular keyword and monitor the change of traffic and position, it is a VERY powerful tool
Check which pages are being visited Google Analytics, make them better. See if you have call to actions on your best pages to convert readers to buyers.
9. Add the Google Authorship plugin to your site.
With every new update that it does, Google is asking more and more quality content from Real people. This is why google is giving more importance to Authorship
Google has recently introduced Author Rank to be able to rank articles according to the Authors overall quality of articles. I wont elaborate too much on it just now, but all you need to do for now is install the Authorship plugin, write great articles and share them.
10. Now one last thing I would really recommend if you want to do SEO by yourself is to subscribe Google Webmaster Central
